Aquella vez en Knoxville cuando estábamos besándonos en el tren, aquel beso largo, largo que nos dimos, despidiéndonos, y de repente el tren empezó a moverse, pero yo no tenía que acompañarla, o sea, ésa era la razón por la que nos estábamos despidiendo, porque pensábamos que no nos veríamos durante mucho, mucho tiempo y estábamos concentrados en ese largo..., sólo besándonos y besándonos y no había manera de bajarme. Árboles y casas desaparecían a toda velocidad. Al final me dejaron en la estación siguiente, que estaba a muchas millas de distancia, y allí estaba yo, esperando durante horas el próximo tren de vuelta, o sea, si me hubiese visto entonces, de pie allí, esperando, seguro, seguro que me querría. O sea, cómo podría no tener algún..., no sé. Ya no sé qué es lo que hace que las cosas pasen, esa conexión. Si es que alguna vez la hubo.
